Founded in Dallas (Texas) in 1982, the brand was named after its creator, Jim Autry. For a long time it was one of the most iconic brands in the United States thanks to the timeless style of its collections, turning the American flag embroidered on all its shoes into a benchmark of quality and know-how.

Since its inception, Autry sought to create tennis shoes that made a difference, a goal that they undoubtedly achieved. In 1985, the famous Tennis Magazine praised its Medalist silhouette, calling it “the best sneaker on the market.” Just two years later, Runner's World magazine gave the Jetstreamer silhouette five stars. This way, Autry positioned itself as a synonymous with quality and excellence on the international scene.

Retiring at its peak and comeback

Despite its overwhelming success and recognition, Autry stopped its production of sneakers in the early 1990s, causing a big disappointment on the sneaker scene.

However, Autry's story was not yet over. After a break of almost thirty years, the brand returned stronger than ever in 2019 thanks to the Frenchmen Alberto Raengo and Régis Billard. These visionaries took the brand, determined to relaunch it and make it have again the splendor of yesteryear. In 2020 its iconic Medalist came back to the market, hoping to achieve again the success that amassed in the 1980s.
